Working with Mental Models is necessary for all behaviour change. As humans we carry around with us, each and every day, tens of thousands of mental models in our heads.

They include everything from our beliefs on the role of government to our preferences for public or private schooling for our children. Our mental models are really the way we see the world. The lens we look through on any given situation.

It is our mental models or internal thinking patterns that drive most if not all our typical behaviour. Therefore fundamental to all development programs is the need to surface and unpack the relevant “mental models” from our subconscious. If we want to change behaviours we have to start with changing minds.

Thus the focus of all coaching and for that matter Learning Sessions should be to assist individuals to discover the thinking patterns that are currently driving the behaviour they see the need to change.
